Drive sales and evangelize PlexusAV products, build and maintain client relationships, support technical questions and product demos, and collaborate with the team to meet sales targets.
3-5 years engineering experience in ProAV with deep AV-over-IP and IT networking knowledge, 2-3 years ProAV business sales experience, and strong channel partner relationships in US and Canada.
Position Summary: Obviously, sales, sales and more sales! However, it is imperative for our salespeople to be driven by three factors: 1. Relationships: We want people who form trusting, lasting friendships with people in the industry. As our technology is new, gaining and fostering a trust-based rapport will be crucial in getting AV integrators to try us out and getting systems designers to specify us. 2. A Sense of Urgency: We want someone with an innate desire to support others. Working in tech isn’t necessarily a 9-5 job, and clients don’t always work during regular business hours. We need them to trust that you will help and support them 24 hours a day. 3. Defocus Tech: We want people who can helpfully communicate with non-technical people. Therefore, we’re looking for someone who can talk in analogies the clients can understand — they don’t want the “speed-and-feeds” of a product — they just want assurance it will work. As a US ProAV Sales Engineer, this role includes driving sales for their market segment or territory. Primary Accountabilities: • Proactively building and evangelizing the PlexusAV product line and philosophies. • Achieving targeted sales volume for assigned territory and/or accounts. • Establishing and (of course) maintaining relationships at all levels — from the client’s receptionist through the CEO — whatever it takes to drive the message and sales. • Working with an entrepreneurial and self-starter spirit. That’s self-explanatory, right? We want you to want to sell! We also want you to be an answer-seeker. Be driven by the sense of urgency mentioned above. • Knowing our company, mission, and products backward and forward. As this is an emerging tech segment of AV, you need to be able to not only explain what we do but also be actively learning more about ProAV. We need a team of people who will keep up and evolve as we grow. • Collaborating with other members of the team. As mentioned, our team is relatively new, and we need to work together to solve client problems and learn our competitive advantages. • Using a CRM system for weekly forecasts, documenting customer contact information and customer interactions. Helping to build an FAQ as we go along. • Working any and all industry trade shows and using these as an opportunity to gain leads collaboratively! • Acting as a liaison and, with the team, supporting all technical questions and product demonstrations for one another. • Managing, negotiating, and providing the necessary support to develop “deal" strategy closure. • Performing other related duties as required. Education/Experience: • Bachelor of Arts or Science and a demonstrated interest in a technical field (preferred) or equivalent job experience. • Three to Five years engineering experience within the ProAV industry and a deep understanding of AV-over-IP technology and IT networking. • Two to Three years of business sales experience and ProAV industry experience (preferred). • Experience with ProAV sales channels and distribution is a plus. • Active network and relationships with channel partners and key customers within the United States and Canada. Skills: • Demonstrated knowledge and technical understanding of professional AV systems, applications, gear and markets, especially AV-over-IP technology are required. • Ability to develop, provide, present/pitch and give creative sales presentations, as well as deliver technical training and engineering support to clients. • Energetic, positive and self-motivated personality. • Entrepreneurial spirit. • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with our internal team. • Ability to multitask and thrive under high-volume and stressful situations. • Accept change as part of the evolution of an emerging tech. Location: This is a remote position. Ideally this person will be located in Mid-America. Note: Federal law obligates us to provide reasonable accommodation to the known disabilities of employees, unless to do so would pose an undue hardship.
