The Office of Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is seeking an Assistant to the Legislative Director. This role will work closely with the Legislative Director and Policy Director to ensure seamless coordination across a large legislative team. Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Tracking Senate floor votes; • Coordinating and tracking vote recommendations, committee activity, bill co-sponsorships, policy development, member requests, and other legislative activity across the legislative team; • Working with the Legislative Director and Policy Director to develop, improve, and implement legislative team processes, including tracking accomplishments and building out a legislative record; • Supporting coordination between the legislative team and other teams in the office; • Scheduling meetings on behalf of the Legislative Director and Policy Director; and • Conducting legislative research and drafting memos. Successful candidates will be collaborative, demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of discretion and organization, and will have exceptional attention to detail and strong written and oral communication skills. Candidates should have at least 1-3 years of experience, and previous congressional, campaign, and/or executive branch experience is preferred. California ties are preferred.
