FUNDRAISING DIRECTOR SEEDS Ecology and Education Centers This is a full time, salaried position reporting to the Executive Director. Cover letter required for application. Summary The Fundraising Director reports to the Executive Director providing leadership, strategic direction, accountability, oversight, coordination, and cooperative prioritizing for org-wide development, especially in the arenas of fundraising and fundraising communications. Purpose To develop and oversee implementation of fundraising strategies to meet the immediate and long-term needs of the organization as identified in collaboration with organizational leadership including Directors and the Board. The Fundraising Director will specifically oversee fundraising activities in the form of grants, private gifts, sponsorships, donations, and in-kind donations. While the organization does utilize earned income strategies, currently this position is focused (solely) on philanthropy and grants development and reporting. Essential Job Duties • Supports and partners with the Executive Director, Program Directors, and key volunteers (including as appropriate select Board Members) to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and associated strategic initiatives • Responsible for the development and implementation of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for donors, grantors, sponsors, and volunteers • Reconciles financial and reporting metrics, monitoring multi-year goals v. actuals, identifying and reporting discrepancies early in the process • Provides leadership on revenue problem solving dialogues with timely and appropriate responses • Leads development of strategies and policies that help the organization deepen ties with key funders and encourage new and/or increased contributions • Develops and implements specific fundraising activities toward solicitations, proposals, annual giving campaigns, sponsorship campaigns, capital campaigns, and in-kind gifts. • Coordinates and keeps accountable staff and volunteer participants in cultivation and stewardship plans and activities • Adds value to the development and implementation of appropriate branding and messaging guidelines for all communications • Supervising individual staff members and projects as determined Other Responsibilities • Responsible for the timely processing of gifts and timely recognition of givers • Responsible for maintaining compliance with state and other regulations with respect to fundraising activities • Leads the development & use of CRM software (Salesforce) including updates and training for development purposes • Cooperatively leads integrations of web-based payment systems with respect to the user experience and reconciliation processes • Collects and synthesizes appropriate data, and prepares and presents communications about fundraising program goals and results to appropriate stakeholders including the board of directors • Develops and manages an annual fundraising operations budget • Plans and directs special events for strategic fundraising purposes • Responsible for solicited donations and sponsorships • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently deliver high quality results on-time • Solid experience with finance, budgeting, and delegation • Experience supervising, managing, and coordinating employees and/or volunteers and/or vendors • A passion for the environment; curiosity about ecological principles and practices • A strong work ethic, self-motivated, and eager to learn new skills • Availability and flexibility to work some evenings and weekends • Adaptive management style and a certain amount of comfort within uncertainty • Adaptive to emerging technologies • Be a strategic thought partner and team-player • Working collaboratively and transparently with co-workers • Capable of prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Compensation • Salary range of $55 to 75K depending on experience • Health and wellness care, paid time off, and retirement benefits • Flexible scheduling and telecommuting friendly • Mission-driven work and a supportive team-based work environment Don’t meet every single requirement?
