PRIMARY PURPOSE The Marine Operations Manager oversees daily activities of national marine operations, leading a team of expert surveyors and adjusters responsible for inspecting and assessing marine vessels for claims processing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead and manage a skilled team of surveyors and adjusters. • Investigate marine transport operations and claims thoroughly. • Ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations. • Conduct detailed inspections of equipment for both new and existing vessels. • Perform unbiased assessments of vessel conditions ensuring quality and safety. • Recommend necessary repairs based on established regulations. • Compile evidence to support damage claims and prepare comprehensive reports. • Monitor operational expenses, oversee profit and loss, and manage budgeted contributions. • Carry out various survey types, including damage and condition assessments. • Review inventory files to meet statutory requirements. • Uphold all safety protocols and regulations. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform additional duties as assigned. • Contribute to the organization's quality initiatives. • Travel as necessary to fulfill job requirements. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • Implement company personnel policies in all areas and adhere to staffing and training standards. • Conduct interviewing, hiring, and develop performance plans for colleagues. • Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation for maximum team performance. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Licensing A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Experience Minimum of 10 years of experience as a marine surveyor with management and business development responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills & Knowledge • Extensive knowledge of marine terminology. • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills. • Strong organizational abilities and detail orientation. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. • Able to work collaboratively within a team environment. • Demonstrates the ability to meet or exceed performance competencies. The compensation for this role ranges from $50,000 to $80,000.
