The position: We’re looking for a Senior HR Analyst to join our Total Rewards team! The Senior HR Analyst supports the design and execution of HR programs and policies under the guidance of the HR Deputy Director. The Senior HR Analyst supports the strategic and operational management in these key areas: classification and compensation, performance management, employee relations, and works closely with staff in across all HR functions in support of the agency and department goals. The Senior HR Analyst advises departments on highly complex HR-related matters, develops and provides training for assigned areas, and coordinates special projects. The role may include supervising staff or serving as acting HR Deputy Director when needed. The ideal candidate will have: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Behavioral Science • Includes one year of supplemental college-level coursework in Human Resources • OR an additional four years of relevant work experience may substitute for the degree • Minimum of six years of progressive experience as an HR Analyst or Business Partner. • Direct experience should include work in: • Classification or Compensation Management • Employee relations and workplace investigations • Performance Management best practices and models • HR strategy and program development • Policy and procedure development • Working knowledge of these areas is desired: • Labor Relations • Benefits and Leave Management • Training • Valid Washington State driver’s license What will you do? • Support the development and implementation of HR programs and ensure compliance with laws and policies. • Lead or assist in compensation analysis, salary surveys, and data reporting and determine compensation for new and promoting staff. • Support employee relations and investigations, and advise departments on complex HR related matters. • Design and deliver HR-related training to staff and management. • Contribute to policy development, special projects, and internal communications. • Monitor legal compliance and provide related staff training. • Maintain detailed records and generate reports on key HR metrics. • Use HRIS and Microsoft Office tools to manage data and systems. • May participate in labor relations activities and contract interpretation.
