Role Overview: As the Assistant Manager of Preconstruction, you will play a pivotal role in the early stages of project development, focusing on engineering, procurement, and construction planning. You will lead cross-functional teams to ensure projects are designed efficiently and prepared for successful execution, supporting Scout’s mission to deliver clean energy solutions. What You'll Do: - You will lead the engineering, procurement, and construction planning scope for utility-scale renewable energy projects. - You will collaborate with project development, engineering, and construction teams to align project goals and timelines. - You will manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effective procurement. - You will oversee the preparation of detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets. - You will identify and mitigate risks during the preconstruction phase to avoid delays and cost overruns. - You will support permitting and regulatory compliance efforts related to project design and construction. - You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize preconstruction processes. - You will mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative work environment. What You Bring: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in preconstruction or construction management within the renewable energy sector. - Strong knowledge of engineering principles related to wind, solar, and battery energy projects. - Proven experience managing procurement processes and vendor relationships. - Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with utility-scale energy projects specifically in wind, solar, or battery storage. - Familiarity with relevant permitting and regulatory requirements. - Professional certifications such as PMP or LEED. - Experience using project management software and tools.
