Front of house manager Scott’s Malibu Market is an exciting new restaurant located in the well-known, Malibu Country Mart shopping center, just past the pier, before Pepperdine University. Our restaurant is a community gathering spot, that provides Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Catering services, along with an in house full Coffee/Pastry/Dessert program. As a gourmet eatery, we are looking to bring on enthusiastic leaders to manage our restaurant. This current position is great for someone who has Front of House supervisor, Kitchen supervisor or Shift leader experience. We are looking for Leaders to take the next steps in their career, who are caring, responsible and reliable. This role will involve the responsibilities of assisting with the management of the restaurant's operation, including the kitchen, food preparation, quality control, ordering/receiving, inventory functions, ensuring quality standards are met, along with food and labor costs being controlled. Compensation will be hourly to start, with the potential of growing into a Salaried role. Responsibilities: - Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen & team. - Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards - Train and supervise, FOH staff, cooks, and assistants - Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment - Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations -Handle guest and community relations Skills: - Culinary experience is preferable - Strong leadership and management skills - Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. People: -Recommend and initiate disciplinary, or other staffing/human resource-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies. Alert management of potentially serious issues. -Ensure all staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions. -Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with others. -Lead by example, ensuring accuracy and completeness of operation procedures on the line during service. What We Need from You · Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts, or equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen leadership operations experience · Manager ServSafe Certificate · Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds · Full availability including weekends, and/or holidays.
