JOB TITLE: Library Coordinator JOB POSTED: October 2025 DEPARTMENT: SVA Library REPORTED TO: Library Director SCHEDULE: FT, Non-Exempt, Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm EST, opportunity for 1 remote day. COMPENSATION: $56,236/annual POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Library Director, the Library Coordinator oversees departmental logistics encompassing all aspects of library procurement, including library acquisitions. Responsible for the administrative support of library leadership. Involvement with special projects and library committees as assigned by supervision. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Orders, tracks, reconciles, and processes all library/archives supplies, equipment, and materials, including acquisitions Processes and prepares all acquisition items for technical services Tracks and reconciles expenditures in the collection development budget Assists with the management of standing orders, approval plans, and communication with vendors Maintains statistics for surveys and reports Manages library purchasing cards (P-card) and reconciles monthly statements Tracks library renewals, including staff memberships, databases, and periodicals Schedules pick-ups and deliveries of donations, equipment, etc., tracks library repairs and maintenance Serves on the library social media committee Assists with special projects/initiatives and participates in library committees as assigned by supervision Support with orientation and open houses, as well as any other Library events outside of regular scheduled hours Other job-related duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BA, BFA, or BS required Two (2) years of experience in an administrative office setting role. ‘ PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Experience working in a library setting Working knowledge of an Integrated Library System Acquisitions module is preferred Knowledge in the arts and humanities is preferred Proficiency in specialized library systems and digital database management Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of best practices for providing library service Knowledge of how to manage new software related to acquisitions and budget management Knowledge of a variety of end-user search systems, personal computers, networks, and emerging technologies to manage digital information. Skill in promoting library resources. Skill in utilizing personal computers, networks, and various software and search systems to access and manage information Skill in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications to effectively interact with students, other staff, faculty, and stakeholders. Skill in problem-solving and with attention to detail Ability to advise on new library services and features affecting database use and to support internet initiatives. Ability to focus on cataloging, data entry, and administrative tasks. Ability to be a self-starter, work independently and maintain focus on a variety of tasks Ability to multitask, self-motivate, and self-initiate tasks. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse student population and the ability to foster an inclusive environment. Ability to work well with others, listen attentively, and foster a supportive environment for patrons and colleagues PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR WORKING CONDITIONS: Variable full-time schedule (35 hrs per week) - may be required to work additional hours outside of the regular work schedule. Location: 380 Second Floor, NYC, NY 10010 Shifts may change according to departmental needs.
