Responsibilities The Medical Records Specialist processes and organizes medical records in a timely manner and in compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies, as well as state and federal laws. The Medical Record Clerk ensures completeness of the record by auditing charts and completing a medical records checklist. Medical Records Clerk handles the storage and retention of charts, responds to requests for medical record, copies and maintains medical record tracking log. The Medical Records Clerk will function within the Center’s policies and procedures, support SCA Values, SCA Vision and SCA Mission. • * Chart Completion • Operative Reports • Medical Record Requests • Retrieving records • Filing • Record Storage and Retention • Performing other duties as required.Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. • Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse with Current State Licensure, Current BLS required. Current ACLS preferred. • Experience: Minimum of (2) year of continuous catheterization lab, ED, or PACU experience required. Previous critical care experience preferred. • Working Knowledge: Able to monitor, scrub, and/or circulate on all cath lab procedures including pacemaker, vascular, cardiac, IR and pain management procedures. Able to pre-op and recover patients undergoing all types of procedures. Able to provide direct patient care to the stable and acute patient. Proficient in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic tracings. • Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to manipulate various types of electronic and clinical equipment, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment, IV infusions, and computer equipment. Ability to operate specialty equipment in the facility and to perform tasks at a “user” level. • Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to effectively communicate and interact will all patients, families, staff, and physicians. Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues and be able to communicate in a clear and understandable manner appropriate to the age/developmental stage of the patient/visitor. • Age-Specific Criteria: Must be knowledgeable and possess the skills necessary to provide care specific to the age-related needs of the patient and interpret data specific to the age group. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school preferred • three – five years’ experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field required • Computer experience, Excel, Word, Medical Billing Software and Applications • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology. USD $24.00/Hr. USD $30.00/Hr.
