EHS Manager – Data Center Construction (General Contractor Representative) Location: Herndon, VA (Local candidates only) Start Date: Immediate – January 19, 2025 Project Type: Data Center Construction Position Summary We are seeking a qualified Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to serve as the on-site safety representative for the General Contractor on a data center construction project in Herndon, VA. This position requires a seasoned construction safety professional with 5–7 years of direct experience who can independently manage site safety operations and partner with project leadership to maintain a safe, compliant job site. Key Responsibilities • Act as the primary EHS representative for the General Contractor on site • Implement and enforce project-specific safety plans, AHAs/JHAs, and client requirements • Perform daily site inspections, audits, and safety observations • Track corrective actions and ensure timely closure • Lead incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations with root cause analysis • Interface with project management, subcontractors, owners’ representatives, and regulatory agencies • Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings • Monitor safety trends, metrics, and compliance documentation • Support high-risk activities including cranes, rigging, MEWPs, excavation, electrical safety, and LOTO Required Qualifications • 5–7 years of construction safety experience, representing a General Contractor • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards • OSHA 30 required (OSHA 510 preferred) • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor safety compliance • Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills • Ability to work full-time on site in Herndon, VA Preferred Qualifications • BCSP certification preferred: CHST, ASP, or CSP • Experience on data center or mission-critical construction projects • Experience supporting large-scale, high-risk construction environments • Familiarity with safety management platforms (iAuditor, Procore, Predictive Solutions, etc.) Schedule & Compensation • Pay Rate: $45–$50 per hour (based on experience) • Schedule: Monday–Saturday, project-driven • Weekly Hours: 40–55 hours depending on site needs • Per Diem: Not offered (local candidates only)
