Overview Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS). The Senior Accounting Specialist performs routine and non-routine office duties in support of accounts payable, payroll, general accounting, and other business service functions. This position may be eligible for telework in accordance with the SRMC Telework policy. See Additional Information* below for details. Responsibilities Verifies information on vendor invoices, detects and corrects erroneous data Routes and enters data into accounting system on a timely basis in order for payments to be processed when due Processes employee expense reimbursements Responds to employee or vendor inquiries Reviews rejected transactions, determines reason and notifies vendor if necessary Verifies vendor information including W-9 forms Posts batch entries Prepares and sends out 1099’s Assist in month end closing Reviews departmental policies and procedures and recommends changes as needed Prepares ad hoc reports and basic analysis as requested Assists with audit requests Maintains electronic and hard copy filing May update accounting journals, ledgers or other financial records May provide daily, weekly or monthly reports May prepare ACH, wire transfers and check requests Other duties as assigned Responsibilities of a Senior level Accounting Specialist also include: Administers the company’s travel credit card program(s) Administers the local travel and entertainment processes Administers the freight payment program Improper payments Discounts Assist manager with metrics Account reconciliations Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and related office experience preferably in accounts payable Microsoft Office experience required Previous use of a computerized accounting system preferably Costpoint and/or Puridiom Additional Information *This position may be eligible for up to 100% full time telework in accordance with the SRMC Telework Policy. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor.
