Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the backbone of our medical practice, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, exceptional patient service, and accurate documentation. Responsibilities • Greet patients warmly at the front desk, manage multi-line phone systems, and schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) - eClinicalWorks. • Support clinical staff by handling intake procedures to include checking vital signs like weight, blood pressure and heart rate, specimen handling and reviewing medical history. • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and collect patient payments. • Manage electronic health information using various EHR systems; maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. • Maintain office organization by filing medical records, managing office supplies, and ensuring a clean, efficient workspace. • Utilize computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and correspondence; operate office equipment such as fax machines and printers efficiently. • Demonstrate excellent patient service skills by providing clear communication, phone etiquette, and compassionate support throughout the patient visit experience. Experience • Prior clinic or medical office experience is required. • Strong familiarity with eClinicalWorks is essential. • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices ensures compliance and confidentiality. • Demonstrated clerical skills including filing, data entry (10 key typing), appointment scheduling, and multi-line phone operation are required. • Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette are vital for success in this role.
