Sauna House was created to be a communal house of relaxation and recovery. We care deeply for our community and the individuals who make it. Our mission is to increase our community's mental and physical well-being through hot and cold contrast therapy. Job Summary: The Sauna House General Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing the full operations of the bathhouse facility. This includes leading a team with a positive attitude, creating and maintaining systems and procedures to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the bathhouse, ensuring exceptional customer service for all guests, and closely monitoring the bathhouse's budget and finances. Required Skills: • Leadership and Management: A Sauna House General Manager will set the tone of the bathhouse each day by modeling a friendly, supportive, and calm demeanor in interactions with staff and guests. They must also have experience managing a diverse workforce, providing constructive feedback and setting performance expectations. Exceptional organizational and managerial abilities are crucial to ensuring smooth operations and efficient resource utilization. • Customer Service Excellence: Creating a superior customer experience is paramount. The General Manager must have exceptional customer service skills and the ability to consistently train and motivate staff to deliver exceptional service. They should understand the importance of building strong client relationships, addressing customer feedback and concerns, and implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. • Direct Sales Initiatives: Lead sales initiatives by promoting packages, memberships, corporate wellness, partnerships, and a team that consistently converts inquiries into booked services. • Community Outreach: Lead community outreach and local partnership development to drive brand awareness, referrals, and incremental revenue. • Business Acumen: The ability to make informed decisions that drive profitability and growth for the business. This includes reviewing and executing the budget, financial management, revenue generation, and cost control for the company. Strong analytical skills are required to assess financial reports, monitor key performance indicators, and develop strategies to optimize business performance. • Wellness Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the wellness industry, including current trends, treatments, and best practices, is essential for success in this role. The General Manager should thoroughly understand our bathhouse services, wellness practices, and emerging industry developments to stay competitive and provide outstanding customer experiences. Knowledge of local regulations, licensing requirements, and industry standards is also essential. They should ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing operations, health, and safety practices. • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication is vital as a Sauna House General Manager. The ability to articulate ideas clearly, listen attentively, and convey expectations to staff, clients, and vendors is essential. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to build rapport with customers and manage relationships with suppliers, partners, and external stakeholders. • Staff Development and Training: The Sauna House General Manager should have a proven track record in hiring, training, and developing a high-performing team. This includes creating training programs, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention. The ability to foster a positive and inclusive work culture is crucial. • Operational Efficiency: The General Manager should possess strong operational management skills to ensure the smooth functioning of the bathhouse. This includes overseeing scheduling, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and adherence to health and safety standards. Responsibilities: Employee Management • Interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling all bathhouse positions • Schedule and conduct 30-day, 6-month, and yearly reviews. Set goals and provide performance-based feedback. • Appraising team performance and providing timely feedback and coaching, ensuring that standards are met. Identify and implement additional training when necessary. • Encourage direct, respectful communication between all team members and maintain a safe and kind work culture Customer Service Management • Provide consistent, intentional customer service • Communicating and enforcing Sauna House policies • Addressing complaints and resolving problems • Handling customer account and billing issues • Consistently review the booking calendar to get ahead of any discrepancies Sales-Focused Initiatives • Lead revenue-driving sales initiatives, including memberships, packages, add-ons, and gift card programs to meet monthly targets • Train and coach front desk and service teams on selling, upselling, and rebooking to improve conversion and retention • Develop and execute seasonal promotions and bundled offers • Build and manage local partnerships and corporate wellness accounts to generate group bookings and recurring revenue Facility Management • Planning, assigning, and directing site work • Staying compliant with state regulations and scheduling them as needed. • Scheduling the weekly/quarterly/yearly maintenance day • Stay up to date on all equipment maintenance • Maintain a good relationship with trades peoples in the area to help with repairs. • Oversee both the facility and the property to maintain a level of excellence daily. • Maintain a high cleanliness standard for the space with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules. Team Communication • Act as the liaison between the Sauna House HQ Team and your team. • Create and share weekly updates with the full staff. • Planning monthly meetings for the team to discuss different topics based on training, core values, customer service issues, and new monthly specials Purchasing, Inventory and Money Management • Review monthly budget and financial statements • Keeping track of all beverage and retail inventory with weekly and monthly reporting • Ordering products and facility needs as needed, staying within the budget. • Maintaining a system that keeps track of all of COGS and expenses • Audit the cash drawer • Weekly run to the bank for deposits and change Marketing & Promotions • Evaluate marketing strategies and promotions • Communicate with Sauna House HQ about ideas and specials that you’d like to try at your location • Work to make local partnerships in your area that are value and missions-aligned Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $68,000.00 per year Benefits: • Employee discount • Flexible schedule • Paid time off Work Location: In person
