### Job Description • *Marketing Operations Manager** • *Sarah Lawrence College** Sarah Lawrence College seeks a **Marketing Operations Manager** to play a central role in the efficient functioning of the Office of Marketing & Communications. This highly organized and detail-oriented professional will oversee vendor coordination, purchasing, production and mailing logistics, and administrative operations that support the College’s marketing and communications initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and project manager who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, has a working knowledge of print and mailing processes, and enjoys ensuring that creative and strategic teams can do their best work. ### Essential Duties & Responsibilities • *Print & Production Management** - Manage logistics for print, mail, signage, large-format graphics, and promotional items, ensuring quality standards, safety compliance, timelines, and budgets are met. - Clearly communicate project requirements to vendors and relay technical specifications (e.g., deadlines, file formats) to stakeholders. - Oversee reviews and approvals for proofs (physical and digital), coordinating timely markups, adjustments, and sign-offs. - Ensure proper archiving of final production files. - Maintain a well-organized sample library. • *Direct Mail & Shipping Logistics** - Coordinate direct mail projects with internal departments and external vendors, including the U.S. Postal Service and mail houses. - Manage recipient lists, postage options, and print asset inventories (e.g., stationery, brochures). - Verify that all designs meet postal regulations. • *Budget, Purchasing & Vendor Coordination** - Track and manage project costs in compliance with College purchasing procedures. - Prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, job requisitions, and expense reports. - Process vendor and freelancer invoices, ensuring approvals, payments, and logging in the department’s master budget. ### Additional Responsibilities - Manage inbound and outbound mail and package deliveries for the office. - Monitor departmental phone lines and email inbox, responding or forwarding inquiries as appropriate. - Advise on the selection and ordering of promotional items. - Order office supplies and manage routine purchasing needs. - Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. ### Required Qualifications - Minimum of **five years’ experience** in operations, project management, print production, and/or mailing services. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and with attention to detail. - Competency in bookkeeping functions (e.g., budget tracking, invoice processing). - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Technical aptitude and eagerness to learn tools and processes that improve departmental efficiency. ### Physical & Cognitive Requirements - Primarily sedentary work with extended periods of sitting and computer use. - Frequent verbal and written communication. - Ability to organize and synthesize detailed information. - Regular walking, standing, and occasional lifting required. ### Preferred Qualifications - Competency with **Adobe Creative Cloud** (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), particularly for preparing files for production. - Experience working within **higher education or nonprofit organizations**. - Ability to travel regionally to vendors and mail houses (mileage reimbursed per IRS rates). ### Salary • *$68,000 – $75,000 annually** ### Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Sarah Lawrence seeks to recruit and retain a diverse administration, staff, and faculty.
