POSITION DETAILS Job Title: Quality Assurance Project Manager Work Location: Southfield, MI Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week The Quality Assurance Project Manager plans, manages, and oversees quality assurance programs for automotive software validation projects; directs the work of QA engineers; coordinates project activities across onsite and offshore teams; manages client relationships; and ensures deliverables are completed on schedule, within scope, and in accordance with client requirements. Position supervises 3–5 QA Engineers. • Project Planning and Program Management • Define project scope, develop QA program plans, allocate resources, assign team responsibilities, and establish delivery schedules for each project phase and release cycle. • Build and manage project timelines using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) models; obtain client and stakeholder approvals for project plans, estimates, and deliverables. • Lead project meetings, sprint planning sessions, and status reviews with clients, management, and cross-functional teams; manage escalations and ensure project issues are resolved promptly. • Team Management and Resource Coordination • Direct and coordinate a team of QA engineers, assigning work, monitoring progress, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring team output meets quality and schedule requirements. • Manage onshore and offshore team coordination within a Global Delivery Model, balancing workloads, resolving resource conflicts, and maintaining consistent delivery standards across locations. • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on project processes, quality standards, and professional development. • Requirements Analysis and Scope Management • Analyze client requirements and project specifications to define acceptance criteria, validate project scope, and ensure full requirements coverage throughout the project lifecycle. • Collaborate with clients, business analysts, and product owners to clarify scope, manage change requests, and obtain formal approvals before project execution proceeds. • Quality Program Oversight • Oversee the execution of quality assurance activities across all project phases, including planning, execution, release, and post-release validation, ensuring adherence to quality standards and client specifications. • Review and approve project documentation, including test plans, test cases, and validation reports, prepared by team members prior to client submission. • Coordinate with development and operations teams to ensure defects are resolved, corrective actions are implemented, and project quality objectives are met. • Reporting, Stakeholder Communication, and Client Management • Prepare and present project status reports, quality metrics, progress summaries, and release readiness assessments to client stakeholders and senior management. • Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, managing expectations, communicating project status, and ensuring client satisfaction with program deliverables. • Document and obtain stakeholder approvals for project milestones, deliverable sign-offs, and release readiness confirmations. Knowledge and Skills Applied: • Specialized experience in software quality assurance project management or automotive software validation program management. • Project planning, scope management, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) methodology. • Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies. • Team management and onshore/offshore coordination in a Global Delivery Model. • Business requirements analysis, scope management, and change control. • Client relationship management and stakeholder communication. • Quality program management and QA lifecycle oversight. • Risk assessment, issue escalation, and executive-level status reporting. • Project and defect tracking tools, including JIRA, ALM, JAMA, and TestLink.
