Full Description

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Lead to guide the transformation of our SugarCRM-based platform. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in PHP 8.x, backend architecture, Apache environments, and MySQL database optimization. You will lead the effort to refactor the platform to align with new functional, performance, and scalability requirements and continue to support enhancements, upgrades, and long-term maintenance. Key Responsibilities: • Lead refactoring and modernization efforts for a SugarCRM-based platform. • Translate new business requirements into scalable technical solutions. • Architect, design, and implement enhancements in PHP 8.x, Apache, and MySQL environments. • Optimize system performance, security, and maintainability. • Review, rewrite, and improve existing codebase and integrations. • Ensure adherence to development best practices, coding standards, and system architecture guidelines. • Collaborate closely with product owners, business teams, QA, and stakeholders. • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, bugs, and system-level problems. • Support long-term roadmap planning, enhancements, and platform stability over the next several years. • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to junior developers (if applicable). • Maintain documentation of architecture, workflows, and system changes. Required Skills & Experience: • 8 12+ years of Software Engineering / Technical Lead experience. • Strong hands-on expertise with: • SugarCRM (architecture, customization, module development) • PHP 8.x (modern syntax & frameworks) • Apache Web Server configuration/management • MySQL schema design, performance tuning, and optimization • Experience refactoring large legacy applications. • Strong understanding of MVC patterns, API development, and integration patterns. • Experience implementing scalable, secure, and maintainable backend architectures. • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills. • Ability to work independently and lead end-to-end technical initiatives. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience migrating SugarCRM between versions or transitioning to modern architectures. • Familiarity with Linux server environments. • Experience with CI/CD, Git, DevOps tools. • Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
