This is a critical leadership role managing the successful integration of financial planning and analysis functions during a M&A process and/or restructuring initiatives for an upstream and midstream natural gas sector organization. This role ensures alignment of FP&A capabilities, systems, and processes between legacy and target organizations. This project position serves as the central point of contact for the FP&A workstream, driving strategy execution, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and timely delivery of integration milestones for the financial planning work streams. This is a remote role requiring MST or CST hours. Qualified candidates must live in the US and be available to work these time zone hours. This is a 1099 contract role for 6-8 months. Responsibilities Work stream Leadership and Program Planning Lead the end-to-end FP&A integration planning and execution, ensuring alignment with broader IMO strategy and key value drivers of the transaction. Define workstream integration roadmap, establish detailed project plans, and manage interdependencies with other functions (e.g., IT, HR, Commercial). Smartsheet experience and capability required. Stakeholder Management Partner with Finance leadership, functional leads (Accounting, Treasury, Operations Finance), and third-party advisors to align objectives and gain buy-in. Reporting & Analysis Integration and Tool Alignment Align and integrate key planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting processes and timelines across both organizations. Support transition or integration of financial planning tools (e.g., Hyperion, SAP BPC, Anaplan) and reporting platforms. Change Management Identify and mitigate organizational resistance, support communication plans, and facilitate training related to new FP&A processes. Communication materials, user guides, and training sessions for FP&A staff on new tools/processes. Risk & Issue Management and Integration Planning Identify integration risks, issues, and mitigation strategies. Clear objectives, scope, timelines, and resource allocations for FP&A integration. Current vs. Future State Assessment and Integrated FP&A Calendar Comparative analysis of FP&A structures, processes, tools, and data models. Harmonized forecasting, budgeting, and reporting cycles for the combined organization. System Migration / Consolidation Plan and Synergy Realization Tracker Roadmap for ERP/EPM integration or migration to a common planning toolset. Dashboard or reporting structure to track progress and benefits tied to FP&A efficiencies Status Reports & Steering Updates and Standardized Reporting Packages Unified management reporting and dashboard templates for business units. Weekly or biweekly updates to the IMO and executive leadership on work stream progress. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (MBA or CPA strongly preferred) 7 years’ experience in FP&A, financial integration, or project management Strong understanding of upstream and midstream natural gas value chain and cost drivers. Gas Industry experience is strongly desired. Proven experience in M&A integration or transformation programs and initiatives Familiarity with enterprise planning systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Anaplan) Experience with energy sector software tools like Quorum and Enertia is desired Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Advanced experience with Smartsheet, PowerPoint and Excel are required Compensation Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role in the state of Colorado and/or for individuals who reside in the state of CO. This compensation range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a 6-8 month consulting engagement, with an hourly range of $75-95/hr. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
