Position Summary Full-time or part-time: Full-time Job title: Staff Engineer II (M) – Software Process Engineering Job Location: 645 Clyde Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94043 Job Description: Lead a team responsible for developing an ad framework for our flagship Live / VOD streaming product, TV Plus. Contribute to designing, architecting, building, deploying, and maintaining various components of high-volume distributed systems. Lead a technical team to deliver full-stack software systems with exceptional quality. Mentor other team members on engineering best practices, enforce code review guidelines, and support the team through the product lifecycle. Drive quality by reviewing code by peers and spreading your expertise to the team, emphasizing unit testing. Provide effective and regular performance feedback to the team members. Perform Internal and External Stakeholder Management. Develop Improvement Proposals to improve the software design and architecture. Set up the technical vision/roadmap for the team. Supervises 2-3 subordinates – Software Engineer / Staff Software Engineer I. Role and Responsibilities Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or any engineering related job titles. Applicants must possess at least 3 years of experience in the following: (1) developing system apps using C and C++; (2) Using scripting (such as JavaScript, BrightScript) to build media experience frameworks; (3) Employing Linux for deployment environment for TVs and server-side infrastructure; (4) Docker for deploying the application in Kubernetes; (5) building media player products using or on top of the smart TV operating systems; (6) fetching media from server URL and media playback using Media Player; (7) VOD (Video on Demand) file formats, m3u8; and (8) working with reporting systems keep track of requests served, impressions and clicks registered from the TV devices. 10% domestic and international travel required for roadmap planning and team building and in person workshops. Skills and Qualifications The salary range for this role is expected to be between $290,500 – $300,500/Year. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
