A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Manager with an accomplished career in the Life Sciences sector to join Sampled’s Sales Team, with responsibility for the South East US region. POSITION SUMMARY: Develop and execute on a strategic growth plan for the region driving long-term growth and revenue through building a solid sales pipeline and owning the sales process and client relationships to create long-term value, expand wallet-share of customers, and increase market share in Pharma, Foundations, and CRO’s. This is a remote based position covering the South East of the US. Ideally candidates will be located in the Eastern Seaboard States. Travel to client meetings will be required. RESPONSIBILITIES: Account Identification and Development: • Develop a plan to build a sales pipeline for the region, and develop through all funnel stages to ensure quarterly and annual revenue targets are achieved. • Prospect, call, & visit clients to educate them on Sampled’s offering, developing long-term relationships. • Consistently advance accounts and win business by setting clear strategic client- centric objectives. • Apply core principles of Customer Intimacy: Build deep, personalized relationships with customers to understand their needs, objectives, challenges and priorities; identify opportunities for value creation for both parties and develop tailored solutions. • Conduct regular business reviews with customers, providing proactive support & guidance, and address any issues or concerns that may arise. • Analyze account performance and identify growth opportunities, in collaboration with Sampled’s internal teams. • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, negotiating contract renewals, and maximizing Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) through strategic account management initiatives. Expansion of Market Share: • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, financials, and risks. • Proactively build effective relationships with Sampled’s Partners and identify or propose potential business deals. • Be the Voice of the Customer internally to influence the products & services portfolio and marketing outreach activities. • Work closely with Product Management to align strategic plans to expand products & services offering, and pricing strategies. • Be technically and scientifically competent in presenting existing and expanding services capabilities, including new product launches. Sales Process and Reporting: • Manage opportunities through all stages of the sales pipeline and communicate progress internally through maintaining up-to-date records in the CRM platform. • Own and be accountable for the process of delivering proposals through to successful completion engaging all appropriate internal resources and customer stakeholders. • Provide analytical reports on a regular basis including accurate forecasting. • Participate collaboratively in business meetings and update key stakeholders • Ensure all internal policies and operating procedures are followed. KPI’s: • Bookings / Revenue growth • Account strategies • Customer Lifetime Value • Share of Wallet • Customer Outcomes • Organic Growth • Upsell and Cross-sell rates POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree required in STEM. Advanced degree strongly preferred. • Minimum 5 years relevant experience selling scientific services in biotechnology, life sciences, or scientific services industries • Proven success & extensive knowledge of biopharma process • Understanding of full drug discovery value chain i.e. from discovery to approval • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Able to create buy-in to a customer-centric culture. • Professional gravitas, able to represent the business externally. Must be able to interact at the executive level and cross functionally to understand the complete vision of the company as well as the present strategy. • Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques. • Results oriented, with a proven record of business growth. • High level of business acumen. Entrepreneurial and strategic. • Confident establishing and growing business network. • Strong sales closing skills, able to coordinate a complex sales process from initial contact through to commitment and signed contracts. Robust negotiation and influencing skills. • Able to analyze, compile and effectively present plans, data and performance metrics. • Technically savvy, able to leverage systems, for example the CRM system. • Accomplished problem solver, solution oriented, and able to manage conflict effectively. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize ensuring on-time delivery. • Exceptional project management skills. • Able to work with a high level of autonomy, seeking support when needed. • Able to travel to client meetings as required • Committed to personal growth and progression within the business Salary range $125,000 to $140,000 plus Sales Commission Plan.
