The Director of Engineering Strategy & Operations will serve as a key member of the engineering leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence, organizational effectiveness, and long-term strategic initiatives across the global engineering organization. This leader will partner closely with the EVP of Engineering, and other cross-functional executives to align engineering processes, resources, and roadmaps with the company’s strategic goals. We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Director to lead the growth and scale of engineering operations programs. As part of the Engineering Strategy & Operations team, this role is responsible for building a world-class technical enablement and deployment program that empowers engineers to tackle complex customer challenges using the Salesforce Platform. The ideal candidate is a data-driven, people-centric leader who brings a blend of strategic thinking, operational discipline, and deep understanding of modern engineering practices. You will be responsible for defining onboarding experiences, technical training programs, and engagement models that prepare engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions. Your efforts will lay the groundwork for how engineers drive platform adoption, enhance technical health, and accelerate customer time-to-value in the field. Your Impact: Engineering Leadership & Enablement Lead and grow a team of technical enablement leads and program managers responsible for onboarding and scaling engineers globally Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and customer-first problem solving Provide technical mentorship and architectural guidance to new and existing engineers Build pathways for engineers to progress from onboarding to technical leadership in the field Program & Technical Strategy Define the technical vision for the engineering program, ensuring alignment with Salesforce platform best practices, guardrails, and product roadmaps Build scalable onboarding, training, and certification programs to equip engineers with deep Salesforce technical expertise across the platform, Marketing Cloud and other Salesforce clouds Develop and scale technical engagement models (e.g., Implementation, MVP, Advisory) for repeatable, high-impact customer engagements Drive operational frameworks for knowledge sharing, reusable code assets, and engagement playbooks across the engineering community Evaluate program outcomes using data-driven insights to guide decision-making and refine future strategies Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Salesforce Product and Engineering teams to align field feedback with product improvements Partner with Customer Success and Professional Services to define technical handoffs and ensure long-term customer success Serve as the technical escalation point for complex deployments and customer technical blockers Requirements: 15+ years of engineering leadership experience in SaaS or enterprise software environments. roles, including 8+ years in leadership Experience in scaling engineering teams and operations in fast-paced environments with background in change management and scaling operational frameworks Proven track record managing cross-functional, globally distributed engineering teams and large-scale program Deep technical expertise in Salesforce Platform architecture, application development, and scale/performance best practices Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS deployment models, platform guardrails, and technical health frameworks Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps, Agile, CI/CD Operational mindset with experience scaling global programs and managing technical processes A related technical degree is related field Unleash Your Potential When you join Salesforce, you’ll be limitless in all areas of your life.
