Bachelor's in Material Science or related field, 3+ years in aluminum market refractory applications, sales and marketing experience, technical knowledge of product manufacture and application, CAD/CAE experience, and strong communication skills.
Why do we need you? The Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramic and Refractories (PCR) Application Engineer (Technical Sales Representative) manages the sale of PCR Refractories solutions in the Non Ferrous Aluminum and other markets. Key responsibilities will include promoting PCR solutions to customers, preparing quotes, managing projects, supervising installations, facilitating the link with the production plants, and achieving the forecasted sales, profit and asset objectives for assigned products and markets worldwide within prescribed budgetary limits. The position oversees a regional enterprise operating in a highly technical and very competitive environment requiring constant innovation and thus must drive the commercial, technical, and operational planning, and be accountable for results. Location: Preferable location would be OH, KY, IN Territory: US-Canada Essential Functions: • Achieve sales, contribution, and asset ratios to meet the forecast by visiting customers and providing them with product/technical solutions to meet their needs via quotations and proposals. • Provide required technical/marketing sales expertise to other team members, manufacturing or engineering personnel, and other international and domestic personnel to facilitate the securing of domestic orders. Use of design and analysis software to support sales activities is a requirement. • Act as the technical resource for product selection, installation method, and operational suggestions for customers as required and present proposals designed to improve their operation or secure new business by displacing competition. • Identify new opportunities and undertake product development projects designed to satisfy the requirement to ensure continued growth of sales and customer base. Serve as the new product champion and lead the development of teams. Resolve all quality and service complaints including issuing of reports. • Provide direct supervision of installation/application of assigned products at customer's facilities to ensure installation according to required instructions. Supervise distributor activities and coordinate sub-contracting of installers or products. • Provide sales forecast data, determine requirements, and champion the development of technical promotional literature. Secure competitive information to gain a competitive advantage. Assist in developing prices and pricing strategies and implement price increases. Is this job for you? • Bachelor of Science in Material Science, Ceramics, Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Required. • 3+ Years experience in Aluminum Market Refractory Applications • 3+ Years Sales and Marketing Experience • Strong marketing and commercial skills, along with technical and working knowledge of internal product manufacture and external application. • Understanding of LOTO, confined space entry, utilization of respirators of CO2 monitors – training and PPE will be provided. • Experience with Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Engineering and heat transfer modeling. Use of design and analysis software to support sales activities is considered a plus. • High level of human relations, verbal and written communication skills required. Demonstrate exceptional listening skills. The ability to interact with internal and external technical professionals and senior management is essential. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,400.00 to $155,100.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
