Perform routine maintenance and repair of plant support equipment and facilities, manage parts inventory, and assist with contractors and line mechanics.
High school diploma or equivalent, basic plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and intermediate electrical skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Brief Description Schedule: Monday to Friday - Day Shift Job Summary: Performs and coordinates all necessary facilities & building maintenance work at the plant. Provides support to facilities mechanics and associates that are responsible for facilities activities and support of maintenance of all manufacturing equipment, tools and support equipment to realize a company profit. Essential Duties And Responsibilities • Develops, schedules and carries out all routine general maintenance and repair of plant support equipment including but not limited to : compressors, chillers, water towers, air dryers and air conditioning units • Ensures all plant lighting is functioning correctly and repairs as needed. • Performs a daily plant walk around to identify facility issues that may require attention • Ensures all emergency lighting is operation and checks on a scheduled basis • Ensures plant fire pumps and PIVs are functioning correctly and checks on a scheduled basis • Ensure all facility structures comply with BRC requirements • Replaces plant air filters on a scheduled basis • Paints structures and equipment as needed. • Patches minor holes and cracks in walls • Ensure all faucets, sinks, water coolers and drains are in good working order. • Assists Facilities Supervisor/Maintenance Manager with contractors as needed. • Assists line mechanics as needed. • Responsible for maintaining all necessary parts required for duties • Documents all work on a work order • Additional requirements as needed. • Order parts, materials and tools required for maintenance operations • Update purchase orders into the system as needed • Maintain the daily physical inventory of parts, tools and materials • Receive parts and stock storage areas, maintain storeroom housekeeping standards • Maintain and update work order system on a daily basis • Maintain computerized preventative maintenance records, procedures and lists • Interface with contractors and vendor Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities • Ability to work with little or no supervision • Basic plumbing skills • Basic carpentry skills • Basic drywall skills • Intermediate electrical skills and basic NEC knowledge • Able to read, write and speak English • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel • Ability to effectively communicate with contractors • Manage the plant hazardous waste collection area for cleanliness and compliance • Ability to utilize stairs and ladders • Ability to lift 50 Lbs Required Education And Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent • Formal Certifications and/or Technical education is a plus • Must provide own hand tools Other • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
