Job Code: OH 786643 Job Title: Product Specialist (BMC Control-M/EM) – Remote Location: Remote (Candidates local to Columbus, OH preferred) Duration: 6 months 9 days (Contract until 06/30/2026) Shift: 3rd Shift – 11 PM to 8 AM, every Saturday & Sunday (some holidays required) Job Description: State of Ohio – JFS is seeking a Product Specialist 1 (PS1) with hands-on experience in BMC Control-M/EM to manage and monitor batch workloads for mainframe and distributed systems. This remote role requires candidates local to Columbus, OH and availability for weekends and occasional holidays. Interviews will be conducted via Teams. Responsibilities: Manage, monitor, and analyze mainframe and distributed systems batch workloads. Identify and resolve job abends, escalating issues when SLA’s may be at risk. Use BMC Control-M/EM to manage batch jobs across environments. Document incidents and tasks in ServiceNow. Utilize tools such as Nagios, IP Monitor, Tivoli, and TSO/ISPF for monitoring and troubleshooting. Communicate effectively with support staff, programmers, and management regarding issues. Mandatory Skills: Proficiency with BMC Control-M and BMC Enterprise Manager. Experience managing batch workloads on AJF for mainframe and client-server applications. Expertise in identifying and fixing abends using JCL. Familiarity with ServiceNow for incident and task management. Ability to recognize server problems using Nagios, IP Monitor, Tivoli. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Certifications / Desired Skills: Expert in managing batch workloads and fixing common abends using JCL. Familiarity with system monitoring tools and job scheduling environments. Ability to follow escalation procedures and document issues accurately.
