Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Support Specialist – Seasonal for the Office of Academic Affairs within the School of Engineering. This position oversees the day-to-day laboratory operations at Undergraduate Education. This position will work in a multidisciplinary environment and play a pivotal role in supporting the technical needs of our faculty and students across all engineering disciplines. Among the key duties of the position are the following: • Collaborates closely with the stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, teaching and learning assistants) to support innovative, project-based, hands-on engineering education. • Assists with operation and execution of laboratory demonstrations and experiments for classes, labs, and research projects. • Helps with prototyping, fabrication, and verification of designs. • Provides resources and guidance to stakeholders on the use of lab facilities and equipment. • Prepares short demos of the lab and student projects for visitors and marketing and recruitment events. • Assists in the development, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory facilities and field equipment. • Manages the usage of the lab equipment. • Prepares and submits purchases orders. • Maintains lab inventory and supplies to ensure that the right resources are in the right place at the right time. • Manages student workers supporting the job duties and supervision of the student workers. • Other related duties as assigned by Undergraduate Education.
