Position Summary: The Electric Substation Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of substation projects from inception through completion. This role ensures that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable standards, regulations, and client specifications. The Project Manager will act as the main point of contact between clients, engineering teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Project Management & Execution • Manage all phases of substation projects, including design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning. • Develop andmaintainproject schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and quality control plans. • Oversee project scope, ensuring compliance with engineering designs, regulatory standards (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NFPA 70E), and client requirements. • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to resolve technical and logistical challenges. • Manage project documentation, including submittals, change orders, and progress reports. Stakeholder & Client Management • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. • Lead regular project meetings, providing updates on progress, milestones, risks, and corrective actions. • Foster strong relationships with utility companies, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Financial & Risk Management • Develop and track project budgets;monitorexpenditures and ensure cost control measures are implemented. • Prepare detailed project forecasts, financial reports, and performance metrics for management review. • Identifypotential risks and develop mitigation strategies early in project planning. Leadership & Team Collaboration • Lead, mentor, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and contractors. • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all project phases. • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards. Qualifications: Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Managementrequired. • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or PMP certification preferred. • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience managing high-voltage or medium-voltage substation projects. • Strong knowledge of substation systems, power transformers, breakers, protection/control systems, and SCADA. Skills & Competencies: • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. • Strong understanding of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project delivery models. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills. • Highproficiencyin project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite. • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Other Requirements: • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed. • Commitment to safety and compliance with utility standards and OSHA regulations.
