Raytheon’s Commodity Supplier Assurance team has an opportunity for a Senior Principal Supplier Engineer based in Northern Utah, who will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier’s technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability. The Senior Principal Supplier Engineer will join our Electronics CCA group. Primary focus will be on CCA Manufacturers. In total, they will support any of the following commodities: CCA/PWB/Flex, Antenna/Power/Networks, Cables/Harnesses/Integrated Assy/Electronic Components and RF. (Experience in one of these commodities is desired, but not required.) This position entails assignment as a Senior Principal Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer in the Salt Lake City / Logan, UT region of the US and is remote. Visits to local Supplier facilities will be required and will require a home office be maintained. Candidates are expected to travel domestically up to 60% of the time, to include driving up to 300-mile radius with some flying as needed. Relocation assistance is not provided. What You Will Do: Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis Manage supplier requests for product and process changes Manage non-conforming products Drive root cause and corrective action Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities Collaborate with and mentor teammates Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders Provide subject matter expertise to team members and suppliers Support domestic travel as needed (see above) Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, as described below Relevant experience is work in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing & quality systems or technical supplier management Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, etc.) The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We Prefer: Experience with Manufacturing Engineering in a manufacturing / factory environment is strongly preferred Active DoD clearance Experience with any of the following commodities: CCA/PWB/Flex, Antenna/Power/Networks, Cables/Harnesses/Integrated Assy/Electronic Components or RF. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
