Full Description

Job Duties: Under the general supervision of a Division Head, is responsible for: • Performs necessary engineering work involved in special assessment projects, special assessment repair program, new development, and private to public road transfers. • Develops cost estimates and addresses environmental considerations. • Supervises and participates in the preparation, revision and delivery of preliminary and final plans, specifications and engineer's estimates. • Represents the RCOC at meetings, responds to customers, functions as division liaison and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders. • Conducts field reviews or investigations. Visits construction sites to review operations and progress. Interprets plans, specifications and design changes. • Prepares and implements work processes. • Supervises and coaches assigned staff. • Performs other work as needed. • Fills in for division manager when needed. • Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County. • Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation. • Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position. Special Experience/Education • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required. • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience commensurate with the duties described above is required. • A Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred. • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is desired. • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver's License.
