Role Summary The Reliability Engineer, Change Control provides lifecycle governance and operational risk control for all production changes impacting Rowan’s mission‑critical facilities. Reporting within Facilities Operations Engineering, this role functions as a senior individual contributor responsible for governing operational change planning, authorization, execution, and review across facilities operations. The position applies reliability engineering principles to ensure changes are executed safely, predictably, and in alignment with uptime, safety, compliance, and audit expectations. The role partners with Facilities Operations, Operations Engineering, Commissioning, and vendors to maintain system stability while enabling controlled evolution of critical infrastructure. Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% for project site visits and company gatherings. Location: Denver, CO (hybrid in-office role) - remote may be considered for exceptional candidates Compensation: $130K - $150K (Offers Bonus) Essential Responsibilities Change Control Governance Own and administer the Facilities Operations change control framework, ensuring all facility changes that may impact uptime, safety, or compliance are properly planned, reviewed, authorized, executed, and documented. Enforce standardized change classification, approval thresholds, escalation paths, and documentation requirements across all sites and operational domains. Operational Risk & Reliability Evaluation Apply reliability engineering and operational risk management principles to evaluate proposed changes across electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, BMS/controls, and physical infrastructure systems. Identify failure modes, interdependencies, and execution hazards. Validate mitigation strategies, rollback plans, and restoration readiness prior to change authorization. CAB / ECAB Leadership Lead Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Emergency Change Advisory Board (ECAB) reviews to evaluate risk, readiness, and execution conditions for proposed changes. Present change scope, risk posture, and operational constraints to cross‑functional stakeholders. Ensure emergency changes are documented and subjected to post‑implementation review. Change Execution Oversight Provide governance oversight for high‑risk, high‑impact, or customer‑impacting changes. Coordinate with Facilities Operations, Operations Engineering, Commissioning, and vendors during execution windows. Monitor adherence to approved scope, sequencing, and controls, and escalate deviations or emergent risks as required. Post‑Implementation Review & Continuous Improvement Conduct Post‑Implementation Reviews to validate change outcomes, capture lessons learned, and identify systemic improvement opportunities. Support root cause analysis and corrective action governance when change activity contributes to incidents or near‑misses. Feed findings back into standards, procedures, training, and change governance artifacts. Metrics, Auditability & Reporting Develop and maintain change performance metrics supporting Facilities Operations management review cadence. Provide leadership visibility into change volume, emergency activity, execution quality, and risk trends. Ensure change records meet documentation, retention, and audit readiness requirements. Training & Operational Enablement Train Facilities Operations personnel and partners on change execution expectations, documentation standards, and execution discipline. Serve as a subject‑matter expert for operational change governance and promote disciplined, learning‑focused execution across the organization. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent mission‑critical facilities experience Experience supporting or governing work in high‑availability or critical infrastructure environments Demonstrated experience applying change control, operational risk management, or reliability engineering principles Preferred Qualifications Facilities Operations Engineering, Commissioning, or Critical Operations background Experience operating within formal governance, audit, or compliance frameworks Strong written and verbal communication skills for leadership‑level reporting and decision support Fueled by Excellence & Collaboration At Rowan, we are a distributed team united by a common mission to transform data center delivery.
