Description: As a Retail Area Support Specialist at Ross Stores, you will play a vital role in our leadership team by overseeing specific departments and managing overall store operations as the Manager on Duty. You will be responsible for maintaining a seamless "treasure hunt" shopping experience, ensuring merchandise is perfectly presented while supervising a dedicated team of associates. Qualifications: • Strong verbal communication skills and fluency in English. • Previous experience in customer service and supervisory roles is highly preferred. • Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and retail software applications. • Capability to handle basic retail math and financial calculations. • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift or move up to 25 lbs. Responsibilities: • Maintain a safe and secure environment for both shoppers and staff by prioritizing accident prevention and building security. • Oversee daily operations, including store opening/closing, cash office security, and armored carrier pickups. • Lead the front-end team to manage customer wait times and ensure efficient "Scan and Bag" procedures. • Supervise general merchandising tasks such as truck processing, recovery, sizing, and markdown execution. • Manage loss prevention programs by maintaining a strong presence on the floor and safeguarding company assets. • Train and mentor associates on registers, dress code standards, and department-specific tasks. • Audit fitting rooms for cleanliness and ensure all returned merchandise is properly tagged and re-sensored. • Handle administrative tasks including payroll reporting, associate scheduling, and bank deposits as assigned by the Store Manager.
