Experience in customer-facing leadership roles, ability to manage retail systems, and physical capability for store duties.
Description: As a Field Operations Manager at Ross Stores, you are at the center of our high-energy retail environment. This leadership role is designed for someone who can effortlessly pivot between big-picture operational strategy and the hands-on reality of a busy sales floor. You will be responsible for driving the "treasure hunt" experience our customers love, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. If you are a natural motivator who enjoys building inclusive teams and solving real-time retail puzzles, this is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on a Fortune 500 company's local success. Qualifications: • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing leadership role with a passion for coaching and developing talent. • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and shoppers in English. • Tech-savvy enough to master our retail systems, including mobile inventory tools and POS software. • Practical knowledge of retail mathematics, necessary for managing cash flow and interpreting inventory data. • A schedule that reflects the retail world, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and busy holiday periods. • The physical capability to stay on your feet all day, move merchandise, and handle the physical demands of a stockroom and sales floor. Benefits: • Performance-Driven Culture: Join a stable, growing organization that is a leader in the off-price retail sector. • Internal Advancement: Benefit from structured training paths that prioritize promoting our own leaders from within. • Dynamic Collaboration: Work in an environment where team problem-solving is the standard, not the exception. • Belonging: Thrive in a culture that genuinely values diversity and fosters an equitable workplace for everyone. • Community Connection: Represent a brand that gives back to the neighborhoods it serves. Responsibilities: • Take ownership of the store as the primary Manager on Duty, handling everything from secure openings to final nightly closings. • Optimize the checkout experience by managing Front End flow and ensuring customers leave with a positive impression. • Guide the end-to-end processing of freight, ensuring goods move from the delivery truck to the racks quickly and accurately. • Maintain a high standard of safety and asset protection to minimize loss and keep the environment secure for everyone. • Oversee the organization and cleanliness of key areas like the stockroom and fitting rooms to uphold our "easy-to-shop" promise. • Manage essential back-office functions, including the creation of staff schedules, payroll processing, and cash office oversight. • Provide active, on-the-floor mentorship to associates, offering the feedback they need to grow and succeed. • Coordinate floor transitions and visual updates to ensure all merchandise is displayed according to company branding.
