Full Description

Description: At Ross Stores, we believe our greatest strength is our people. As a leading name in the off-price retail sector with a massive footprint of over 2,200 locations, we offer a stable and energetic environment where your leadership can truly make an impact. We are currently seeking a motivated Department Supervisor to step into a key leadership role. In this position, you won't just oversee a section of the store; you'll act as a primary leader for the entire building during your shifts. You will play a vital role in delivering the "treasure hunt" shopping experience our customers expect by keeping the sales floor organized, safe, and efficiently run. If you are a proactive problem-solver who enjoys coaching others and thrives in the heart of a busy retail operation, we want to help you grow your career within our Fortune 500 family. Qualifications: • Previous experience in a retail setting, ideally with some time spent in a shift lead or supervisory role. • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team and assist customers with professionalism. • Comfortable handling core operational tasks, including cash office management and store opening/closing duties. • A strong sense of visual aesthetics to maintain high merchandising standards on the floor. • A serious approach to workplace safety and a commitment to protecting company assets through loss prevention. • Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays to support store needs. Benefits: • Clear pathways for career growth within a top-performing, nationwide retail company. • A welcoming and inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives are encouraged and respected. • Access to ongoing training and leadership development resources. • A supportive team dynamic that emphasizes collaboration and rewards hard work. • The financial stability and competitive compensation package offered by a growing Fortune 500 company. Responsibilities: • Serve as the Manager on Duty, taking full responsibility for store security, staff workflow, and overall productivity. • Ensure the safety of all associates and customers by monitoring for hazards and strictly following emergency and building security protocols. • Drive the merchandising cycle by overseeing the rapid processing of new freight and ensuring all items are correctly sized and displayed. • Lead by example on the sales floor, coaching the team to provide friendly, efficient service that exceeds customer expectations. • Organize stockroom workflows, from receiving shipments to managing markdowns and damaged goods processing. • Maintain high integrity regarding loss prevention, including monitoring security systems and overseeing secure financial transactions. • Coordinate floor transitions and update promotional signage to keep the store fresh and easy for customers to navigate. • Partner with the Store Manager and Assistant Managers to execute daily priorities and uphold the Ross brand image.
