Description: Ross Stores is looking for a high-impact Area Director to join our leadership team. As a vital part of our Fortune 500 retail operation, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple departments and ensuring the "treasure hunt" experience remains seamless for our customers. We are a company built on growth, having reached over 2,200 locations by focusing on high-quality brands at incredible values. In this role, you aren’t just managing a floor; you are driving excellence, developing future retail leaders, and fostering an inclusive environment where every team member feels valued. If you have a passion for operational precision and a track record of building strong teams, we invite you to grow your career with a retail leader that is as committed to its people as it is to its profits. Qualifications: • Strong background in retail leadership with a focus on multi-unit or large-scale area management. • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively. • Proven ability to analyze retail metrics and execute strategic plans to improve performance. • Proficiency in retail technology, including point-of-sale systems and inventory management tools. • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays to support business needs. • Physical capability to remain active on the sales floor, including standing, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs as needed. Benefits: • Competitive compensation within a stable, growing Fortune 500 company. • Extensive career development and internal promotion opportunities. • A collaborative work culture that prioritizes teamwork and creative problem-solving. • A deep commitment to Diversity, Equality & Inclusion within the workplace and the community. • The chance to work for a winning team with a consistent track record of financial success ($20.4 billion in recent revenue). Responsibilities: • Serve as the primary Manager on Duty, overseeing total store operations and ensuring a safe, secure environment for all shoppers and staff. • Direct the merchandising lifecycle, from truck offloading and stockroom organization to floor placement and promotional signing. • Lead Loss Prevention efforts by maintaining high visibility, conducting audits, and ensuring all security protocols including EAS and cash office safety—are strictly followed. • Optimize the customer experience by managing Front End flow, reducing wait times, and coaching associates on service standards. • Supervise specialized areas such as Fitting Rooms and the Stockroom to ensure cleanliness, organization, and efficient "go-back" processing. • Manage administrative priorities including payroll administration, bank deposits, and associate scheduling compliance. • Promote the Ross brand by enforcing dress code standards and maintaining a high level of professional excellence across the store. • Mentor and train associates to build a talent pipeline, ensuring the store is staffed with knowledgeable and motivated professionals.
