About Us: Our client is a midsize, privately owned manufacturing company operating seven plants across the U.S. in the thermo-forming composites industry. Our products support OEMs across multiple sectors, including emergency vehicles, heavy trucks, agriculture equipment, firetrucks, ambulances, railroad, and other specialty/non-automotive OEM applications. We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive growth, build lasting relationships, and expand our market presence. Position Overview: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing accounts. This role requires a proactive, strategic sales professional with deep experience in manufacturing or industrial environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable selling into OEM as described markets, thrives on travel, and has a track record of exceeding sales targets. You will work from home, manage time exceptionally well, and be willing to travel to meet with existing customers and new prospects. Candidates with prior experience selling in to the customers and markets described are desirable. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and execute a sales strategy to generate $5M+ in new business annually. • Identify, pursue, and secure new OEM accounts in targeted industries (fire/emergency vehicles, heavy truck, rail, agriculture equipment, etc.). • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction. • Represent the company at key tradeshows, conferences, and industry events to promote capabilities and build market presence. • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, competitive positioning, and customer needs. • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, and plant leadership) to deliver customer-focused solutions. • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to close business profitably. • Develop accurate forecasts, sales reports, and performance metrics for leadership. • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and customer applications. Qualifications: • 10+ years of progressive business development/sales experience in manufacturing, composites, plastics, or related industrial sectors. • Proven, strong track record of meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar sales goals. • Demonstrated ability to secure and manage OEM accounts outside of the automotive sector. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. • Comfortable with up to 50% domestic travel. • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently in a remote setting. Compensation & Benefits: • Base salary of $120,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience. • Commission plan: 1% of new business revenue. • Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc.).
