Executive Director Organization: ROOTED in Lewis County Location: Lewis County Position Type: Full-Time, 40 Hours a week Reports To: Board of Directors Time Period: Until filled About Us: ROOTED in Lewis County is a grassroots 501(c)(4) nonprofit that serves historically marginalized communities and their allies. We are working to remove systemic barriers and nurture connections so everyone can grow and thrive. Individuals are empowered to help love flourish, dignity sprout, and cultivate lasting, positive change to advance an inclusive, equitable Lewis County for all. Position Overview: The Executive Director will lead the organization to achieve its mission and goals, overseeing administration, programs, and strategic planning. Key responsibilities also include marketing and community outreach. The role reports directly to the Board of Directors. This position follows a non-traditional work schedule, with core responsibilities occurring between 2-6pm, evenings, and weekends due to events and community needs. Flexibility in daytime hours is available when schedules allow. Salary/Benefits: $62,400/yr - Compensation is commensurate with experience, with benefits negotiable based on qualifications. Responsibilities: Leadership and Management • Provide strategic leadership to advance the organization’s mission. • The implementation of policies and development of administrative procedures. • Ensure organizational goals are achieved through measurable outcomes. • Organization operations within the boundaries of prudence and ethics. • Oversee daily operations and program implementation. • Develop systems for tracking progress and evaluating programs. • Foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture. • Plan and conduct annual training for board members and the Executive Director on board development and strategic planning. Development • Create a fundraising strategy to secure support from various sources. • Build and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders. • Oversee grant writing and reporting. Financial Oversight • Assist the board in obtaining an external financial audit annually and ensure that recommendations from the audit report are addressed. • Meet all requirements for complying with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. • Provide regular financial reports to the Board. Community Outreach and Advocacy • Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization. • Build relationships with community leaders and stakeholders. • Advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity. • Develop programs for marginalized communities. Board Administration and Support: • Collaborate with the Board to fulfill the organization’s mission. • Assist in evaluating Board members. • Attend Board meetings and provide monthly reports on activities and progress. Program Development and Implementation: • Oversee program planning, implementation, and evaluation. • Ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals. • Promote continuous improvement in program delivery. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/liberal arts or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the required skills and competencies required. • (Preferred) bilingual English and Spanish. • Strong fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations. • Strong financial management and budgeting skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. • Strong organizational and project management skills. • Passion for social justice and community advocacy.
