Support product development and client deployments by designing process models, maintaining modeling assets, and engaging with stakeholders.
Requires 5+ years in process engineering, expertise in process modeling software, and strong communication skills.
About Us We’re building Roebling, an AI-native industrial planning platform aimed at enabling the rapid development of the industrial infrastructure required to power and manufacture cutting-edge technologies. Today, innovators face an outdated reality: getting to construction on projects big and small requires thousands of hours of repetitive, PDF- and spreadsheet-driven workflows with heavy QA/QC overhead. It’s inefficient, slow, and largely unchanged for more than a century. Over the past 18 months, we’ve built an MVP to demonstrate how reducing planning timelines by 10x helps companies bring new products to market faster. We’re not building another OpenAI wrapper – the foundation of Roebling’s backend is a no-code project simulation engine that combines aspects of chemical engineering, finance, and operations with AI-enabled workflows to inform infrastructure investment decisions for industrial projects with construction budgets from $10s to $100s of millions. If you're motivated by using software and AI to unlock physical infrastructure, we’d love to chat! About This Job As a Sr. Process Engineer at Roebling, you will be part of our Process Engineering & Implementation Team, supporting both product development and customer deployments of our next-generation industrial planning and feasibility platform. This role combines hands-on process modeling and technoeconomic analysis with product development, creating scalable, data-driven tools that support strategic and capital decision-making. You will translate client needs and product concepts into robust modeling frameworks, reusable components, and high-quality datasets. Working closely with the customer delivery and product development teams, you will ensure Roebling’s tools reflect real-world engineering practice and deliver flexible, decision-grade insight across complex project contexts. The ideal candidate is an experienced process engineer with strong expertise in process modeling and TEA, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments. You communicate complex technical ideas clearly and contribute to building tools that scale across projects and clients. Roebling’s Sr. Process Engineer will report to the SVP of Process Engineering & Implementation and work closely with other members of the team across the business. Job Responsibilities Design and maintain modeling assets, including reusable unit operation blocks, equipment sizing and specification calcs, databanks, templates, and reference models Define and maintain modeling standards, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure consistency, flexibility, and technical rigor Create clear documentation, training materials, and use-case examples that support and enable effective deployment of the software Engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify modeling requirements, address pain points, and drive continuous improvement Provide structured feedback to product and software teams on usability, workflows, and feature priorities based on real-world modeling needs Develop process models to support Roebling implementations for client engagements Requirements BS or higher in Chemical Engineering, or a related field 5+ years minimum (10+ preferred) relevant process engineering and process modeling experience Strong expertise in developing process models, including heat and material balances, equipment sizing, and process flow definition Solid understanding of core process engineering unit operations and industrial process design principles Demonstrated experience with early-stage project development (FEL), technoeconomic analysis, and cost estimation Deep familiarity with process modeling methodologies and process simulation software (e.g., AspenPlus, Aspen HYSYS, PRO II, DWSIM, APS, or similar), Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders from the shop floor to the C-suite Compensation $130,000 - $170,000 Other While fully remote, Roebling’s team values cohesiveness and in-person collaboration. We have a preference for candidates near our existing team (New York (NYC, Rochester), SF/Bay Area, Boston) who are open to hybrid work. Our team aspires to hire great people and create an environment where we can be happy, feel challenged, and do our best work. It's an exciting time to join Roebling and build that environment from the ground up! Benefits Include Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Daily lunch allowance Coworking space (NYC, Boston, SF Bay Area) Competitive compensation packages, including equity Flexible PTO 401(k) Team offsites Roebling provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
