The Research Engineer will be responsible for researching third-party software and hardware, documenting integration points, and collaborating with the development team to enhance integration capabilities. Responsibilities • Conduct research on third-party software, devices, and APIs. • Document the functionality and integration points of third-party software, devices, and APIs. • Collaborate with the development team to ensure accurate and detailed research findings. • Develop Python proof of concepts to demonstrate integration capabilities. • Collaborate with delivery staff and industry partners to gather and analyze data from the field Skills • Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. • Hands-on experience with specialized industrial hardware including Rockwell, Siemens, and Schneider Electric systems, as well as protocols such as EtherNet/IP, BACnet, and Modbus. • Familiarity with various API types (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, etc.). • Familiarity with HTTP, SSH, SNMP, or Modbus. • Excellent research, analytical, and technical documentation skills. • Basic knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language • Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Proxmox, or Hyper-V. • Proficiency in tools such as Wireshark, Postman, Nmap, or Burp Suite. • Familiarity with various tools in the IT security space such as backup, patching, and network management solutions.
