The attorney in this role will actively seek to bring on new clients by applying sales skills through communication, problem-solving, and persuasion techniques to deliver an exceptional estate and financial planning experience. This position is client-facing. Upon hire, an office will be located and leased convenient for both the attorney and clients. The attorney will host and speak at workshops throughout the metro area, meet in person with probable clients for first consultations, inspire clients to take next steps, retain clients through influence, conduct interim meetings, consult and design individualized estate plans, and conduct document signing meetings with clients. Mentor attorneys and advisors will work closely with the attorney as they develop in the role. Responsibilities - Hosting and speaking at public workshops, educating probable clients about all of their estate and financial planning options - Meeting with probable clients for first consultations and gathering all necessary information to make planning recommendations, and most importantly, aiding the client to overcome procrastination and retain - Engaging clients to move forward with preparation of estate planning documents - Reviewing drafts of the estate plan to ensure the plan meets client needs and wishes - Utilizing legal technical knowledge and fiduciary responsibility to make recommendations to clients in order to create an exceptional, individualized plan - Conducting document signing appointments with clients including notarization of all documents while also explaining the plan, how it was designed based on their wishes and needs, and answering and addressing any and all concerns - Assessing any opportunities to provide integrated estate and financial planning - Recording detailed notes of all meetings and phone calls electronically within the client database - Meeting weekly with assigned mentor attorney to discuss any complicated client matters and obtain answers to technical legal questions and/or concerns - Communicating with clients, attorneys, financial advisors, and staff - Responding to client requests and needs via email and telephone - Working collaboratively with the team Requirements - Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills - Juris Doctorate and Licensed as an Attorney - Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office and Apple - Ability to work early evenings twice a month required - Customer service experience - No estate planning specific experience needed Compensation & Benefits - Generous base with bonus, based on experience - Continuous & ongoing attorney mentorship - Flexible PTO - Health insurance with company contributions to premiums - Dental insurance - Vision insurance - Maternity/Paternity leave after 1 year of employment - 401k with matching benefits
