ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client is a well-established Canadian healthcare organization that develops, manufactures, and distributes specialized medical technologies for acute care settings. With a growing portfolio of proprietary product lines, the company is seeking a strategic leader to elevate product management, strengthen market positioning, and drive profitable growth. This is a high-impact leadership role with direct influence on revenue, gross profit, and portfolio strategy. WHAT ARE THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB? Product Portfolio Ownership Lead the full lifecycle management of multiple proprietary product lines. Translate clinical and commercial insights into actionable product strategies. Oversee product roadmaps from concept through commercialization and eventual lifecycle transitions. Drive continuous improvement in product management workflows to improve speed-to-market. Own and manage a robust product change process for manufactured product lines, ensuring all changes to components, bills of materials, and configurations are executed seamlessly with minimal disruption to the customer. People Leadership & Organizational Development Directly manage and develop a team of Product Management and Marketing professionals. Set performance objectives, conduct reviews, and build a high-accountability culture. Balance strategic initiatives (new product development and growth programs) with operational execution. Commercial & Market Strategy Lead go-to-market planning for new product launches. Own high-level RFP and tender strategy, reviewing and approving complex submissions. Develop positioning frameworks, value propositions, and portfolio-level marketing strategies. Partner cross-functionally with other departments to ensure alignment. Financial & Analytical Leadership Hold full accountability for portfolio revenue and gross margin performance. Develop forecasting models and demand plans aligned with supply chain planning. Analyze product mix, pricing, and profitability to protect and grow margins. Leverage business intelligence tools to inform decision-making and resource allocation. WHAT DOES THE IDEAL CANDIDATE OFFER? Education & Training A Bachelor's degree is required (Business, Science, or related discipline), and an advanced degree is preferred. Work Experience & Accomplishments 7+ years of progressive experience in Product Management and Marketing within medical devices. Brand manufacturing experience will be essential to succeed. Proven leadership experience managing and developing direct reports. Demonstrated success leading new product development initiatives and commercial launches. Strong experience overseeing RFP/tender strategy and competitive bid submissions. Track record of managing complex product portfolios with P&L responsibility. Skills & Competencies Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline. Advanced data analytics capability and forecasting expertise. Financial acumen with comfort owning revenue and gross profit targets. Deep understanding of product lifecycle management in regulated healthcare markets. Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing ability. Advanced technology proficiency. Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward process improvement and accountability.
