Full Description

We are seeking an experienced ColdFusion Developer to provide critical maintenance and support for a legacy, homegrown application that serves as an OSHA compliance reporting tool across 13 educational centers. This system is mission-critical for generating student verification wallet cards, managing PayPal payments, and ensuring OSHA training compliance. Core Responsibilities: Application Maintenance (80%) Diagnose and resolve issues in the existing ColdFusion application. Implement hot fixes and ensure system stability. Add or remove reports as needed. Enhancements & Updates (20%) Perform occasional updates with minimal front-end changes to avoid errors. Improve security measures, including session variable handling. Immediate Priorities Provide stop-gap support to prevent downtime. Address challenges caused by inconsistent application instances and poor scope rewrites. Technical Environment ColdFusion Version: Adobe ColdFusion 2018 on Windows Server Frameworks: No formal methodologies; existing CSC/CFC components (phasing out preferred) Front-End: Bootstrap (JavaScript), Google Fonts Integrations: Heavy use of Excel file uploads (not mobile-friendly) Security: Avoid API plug-ins due to past vulnerabilities Infrastructure Hosted on Azure, Windows Server R2/2012 DB Staging and production environments currently share the same database (requires separation) No specific IDE required; current developer uses manual coding and query builder Scope & Impact Supports 13 educational centers Mission-critical for OSHA compliance reporting and student verification Team & Collaboration Current team includes 1 developer (California-based) and 4–5 print-side employees onsite No dedicated QA, DevOps, or business analysts Ideal Candidate Strong experience with Adobe ColdFusion and legacy system maintenance Ability to troubleshoot and stabilize mission-critical applications Familiarity with Azure hosting and Windows Server environments Comfortable working independently and collaborating remotely Adobe ColdFusion, Bootstrap, JavaScript Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
