Lead and manage production staff to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and operational discipline in the manufacturing plant.
5-8 years manufacturing leadership experience, familiarity with manufacturing software and SAP preferred, ability to manage 10+ direct reports, and physical ability to meet job demands.
Summary: The Production Manager will lead a group of filler machine operators, batch makers, material handlers and utility staff in the plant/production department. This individual will provide leadership of safety, quality, and productivity of all plant employees. Individual will report to the Director of Manufacturing, and role has high visibility and growth with the entire department to improve and lead to success. This is a great role for anyone excited by the opportunity to lead change and make a department of their own. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Coach, train, motivate and manage hourly manufacturing employees. • Create change – empowers others to achieve greater efficiency and improves their work environment. • Promote and maintain positive employee relations and a quality work environment. • Leadership of daily production plans – meet internal & external customer expectations. • Maintains standards in the areas of safety, attendance, warehouse organization operational discipline. • Be familiar with the equipment and operating procedures to make educated decisions and corrective actions. • Manage multiple competing requests while maintaining a culture of accountability and execution. • Communicate & interface with site maintenance and technical teams – identify best practices. Education/Experience: • 5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership position. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred but not required. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; MS office; manufacturing software; order processing systems; and experience with SAP preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities: 10 direct reports plus seasonal workers during busy season.
