Risk Strategies Consulting is seeking an experienced healthcare analytics professional to support and direct advanced healthcare analytics strategy, client advisory, and data innovation across our portfolio of employer and carrier clients. This role blends direct client consulting, technical data analysis method and tool leadership, and team development necessary to provide data-driven insights to our clients in support of their insured and self-insured healthcare programs. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients, assisting in shaping data strategy, analytics roadmaps, and value realization programs. This role requires deep healthcare domain expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex analytics into business-ready insights that inform multimillion-dollar decisions. You will work with cross-functional teams, influence product and solution development, and collaborate with other leaders to establish analytics best practices across the organization. Your work will directly impact client strategy, vendor selection, benefit design, and long-term cost containment initiatives. Responsibilities Analytic Design & Strategic Support • Contribute to the development and refinement of analytic frameworks, models and analytic report structures. • Support project leads in shaping methodologies, guiding analytics decisions and ensuring alignment with client goals. • Work with actuarial, HEOR and clinical staff to develop advanced analytical and statistical techniques to evaluate financial, clinical and operational performance. • Help troubleshoot data issues, evaluate assumptions and ensure analytic rigor and accuracy • Translate complex analytics into executive-level and board-ready insights. Client Advisory • Advise senior client stakeholders on medical and pharmacy cost drivers and utilization trends. • Help lead network strategy evaluations and provider network valuation analyses. • Deliver vendor performance analytics and support RFP and vendor selection processes. • Develop and present ROI and value realization frameworks for client initiatives. • Support and assist in leading complex client engagements end-to-end, from strategy through execution. Operational Excellence & Innovation • Help build scalable analytic tools, datasets, models and reporting assets used across clients. • Contribute to process improvements that strengthen efficiency, quality and consistency across engagements. • Support documentation, version control, and transparent communication of methodologies and analytic logic. • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging analytic techniques, and regulatory developments to inform ongoing improvements and client strategy. Team & Practice Leadership • Build, mentor, and manage high-performing analytics teams. • Establish coding standards, documentation frameworks, and QA processes. • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development. • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth. Qualifications Required • A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field is required. • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare analytics or data science is required. • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership, advisory, or client-facing consulting role is required. • Advanced proficiency in structured query languages and statistical programming tools, including SQL, Python, R, and SAS, is required. • Demonstrated experience leading complex claims and pharmacy analytics initiatives is required. • Deep knowledge of healthcare data, including medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility, encounters, labs, and EMR data, is required. • Strong working knowledge of healthcare coding systems. • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and translate findings into executive-ready insights. • Proven experience advising client stakeholders and leadership teams is required. • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect analytics to financial and strategic outcomes. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive presence are required. • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and deadlines is required. Preferred • Experience with Uniform Discount and Data Specification (UDS) submissions • Experience supporting underwriting analytics and insurance pricing models. • Experience with value-based care and alternative payment models. • A Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Public Health, Data Science, or a related field. • Demonstrated experience leading analytics transformation initiatives.
