Full Description

As a Director, this role serves as a Voluntary Benefits (VB) specialist, acting as a strategic consultant and resource to both internal team members and Risk Strategies’ clients. The position encompasses a broad definition of voluntary benefits, including some financial well-being solutions and other adjacent solutions, such as communication and enrollment firms. The role requires following emerging trends and solutions related to VB. This position drives new business development for VB in collaboration with regional sales and service teammates. It entails developing and maintaining vendor partner relationships within assigned region, as well as participating in national discussions as it relates to VB practice development and strategy development. As a member of the VB Practice, the Director plays an active role in the growth and success of the group on both a regional and national basis. Your Impact Develop and implement regional strategic sales and marketing plans in collaboration with region leadership to achieve revenue growth and market penetration. Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and internal needs and opportunities to identify new business development opportunities. Collaborate with VB and regional leadership to establish regional sales objectives, revenue forecasts, and budget allocations. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, teammates, and partners. Serve as a trusted VB advisor for high-value customers as requested by sales and service teammates. Negotiate with vendor partners to maximize the value of VB for customers, employees, and teammates using VB sales and technical expertise. Help recruit, mentor, and lead high-performing regional VB specialist team as needed to scale support for teammates. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. Set clear performance expectations and metrics and participate in regular performance reviews. Drive sales growth through targeted sales and marketing campaigns, strategic partnership development with vendor partners, and cross-selling initiatives. Oversee the development and delivery of customized sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations. Successful Candidate Will Have Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or a related field required. Advanced degree (MBA or related) preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the voluntary benefits or employee benefits industry. At least 3 years of experience in a regional leadership role. Demonstrated expertise in VB products, including Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Identity Theft, Legal, Life with LTC, Pet Insurance, Discount Platforms, and Auto and Home Insurance Marketplaces. Proven track record of developing and executing strategic growth initiatives. Appropriate state Life, Accident, and Health license(s) required. CEBS, VBS, or other relevant industry certifications preferred. At Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $132,850 - $179,750. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
