Description Ripple Effect Asset Management is a cross-asset investment specialist providing concentrated exposure to secular inflections with strong risk controls. Ripple Effect Energy and Mobility Liquid Opportunities Fund is focused on investments across the energy transition. The fund will invest both long and short across credit, equity, options, and futures. Role Overview The Software Engineer & DevOps Engineer is a pivotal member of our Risk & Data Science team. They will empower our investment and risk teams by developing scalable processes that translate large datasets into actionable insights. The ideal candidate brings strong DevOps expertise, a passion for system optimization, and the ability to continually evolve the existing platform with the latest advancements. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Investment Decision Support: · Collaborate directly with the head of Risk & Data Science to understand their data and analysis needs, ensuring our technology stack effectively informs strategic decisions. · Develop and maintain internal tools that aggregate, cleanse, and analyze large datasets. Stack Optimization & DevOps: · Audit, clean up, and modularize our current technology stack to streamline workflows and enhance system reliability. · Implement DevOps best practices to automate deployment, testing, and maintenance, ensuring a robust, scalable infrastructure that can quickly adapt to evolving market conditions. · Integrate modern monitoring and logging tools to improve system performance and provide real-time insights into system health. Data Analytics & Risk Monitoring: · Develop processes and models to monitor portfolio risks across various asset classes. · Provide actionable risk insights by building automated reports and dashboards that present complex data in a clear, concise manner. · Lay the groundwork for a Python-based data visualization dashboard to deliver real-time analytics and key risk indicators. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: · Work in close partnership across teams to iterate on internal systems and continuously improve the integration between technology and investment strategies. · Challenge conventional methods and recommend enhancements to existing systems that drive efficiency and better decision-making. Experience, Skills and Abilities: Essentials · Experience in Snowflake, Dash, GitHub Actions, Airflow · Minimum 4+ years of Python and SQL experience. Experience, Skills and Abilities: Preferred · Advanced Degree in Quantitative Field: Computer Science or related fields. · Experience in implementing and utilizing AI to both build tools and enhance them. · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. · Not being afraid to question the status quo. Work Environment · While the headquarters is based in New York City, we are primarily looking for a candidate who can work a later shift.
