Key Responsibilities: • Lead crews and participate in all phases of construction, including coordinating and scheduling projects on a daily basis. • Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine construction requirements and plan procedures. • Review project details to ensure that appropriate materials, tools, and equipment are brought to each job. • Use measuring and marking equipment to locate, measure, and mark site locations and/or the placement of structures and equipment. • Document daily personnel, production, and operational data. • Assist workers on-site with construction activities, using hand tools and other equipment. • Inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure specifications are being met. Additional Skills and Abilities: • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines. • Capability to load materials, tools, and equipment onto the company truck for each job. • Ability to travel to and from the office and job sites. • Physical stamina for long periods of stooping, bending, standing, and lifting. • Proficiency in operating a skid steer, mini excavator, and dump truck. • Experience with concrete saws, finishers, bull floats, trowels, etc. • Ability to work independently under written direction. • Expertise in pouring multiple types of curb. • Comfort working under active road scenarios. • Knowledgeable in Maintenance of Traffic operations. Requirements: • High School diploma or equivalent • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a concrete foreman • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to handle standard problems or conflicts independently. • Ability to determine the tools and equipment needed to do the job. • Ability to handle recurring situations in a calm, positive manner. • Ability to work effectively with other employees, supervisors, and other company personnel. • Ability to convey information effectively. • Must possess a current driver’s license. • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and perform heavy lifting.
