Who We’re Hiring: As the Fleet Manager for New York, you will be a core member of the Ride Health Fleet Management team. Through successfully managing relationships with our partnered non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) providers—including the drivers and vehicles within their fleets dedicated to our clients’ programs—you will have an immediate impact on the availability of healthcare services for older adults and people with disabilities. As you collaborate with key stakeholders to meet client and internal requirements, policies, and procedures, you will be providing these vulnerable populations with the freedom and convenience of reliable, safe transportation. Success in this position will require exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving. Responsibilities: Field responsibilities include transportation provider relationship management, training, and quality assurance monitoring; client relationship management at client offices and program locations; and onsite emergency incident presence. Manage in the field to personally respond to any incidents and interact with drivers and vehicles. This is a hybrid position that will require in-office presence when interfacing with clients. Maintain departmental compliance with company policies, recordkeeping, and procedures. Ensure departmental adherence to all applicable Federal, State, Local, DOT, and OSHA regulations. Maintain accurate records of driver rosters and performance, as well as fleet vehicles, including all preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Ensure vehicles meet NEMT standards for accessibility, safety, and passenger comfort, including regular inspections and adherence to wheelchair securement protocols. Collaborate with other managers or staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, or objectives. Proactively communicate key findings and updates from site visits, meetings, or incidents to relevant stakeholders. Monitor operations to ensure that partner NEMT providers comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations. Establish situational procedures for issues that impact fleet performance, such as emergency maintenance, driver shortages, and service disruptions. Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and customer care aligned with NEMT and PACE program standards. Must reside in the New York Boroughs due to client and driver demographics Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class C minimum with passenger endorsement Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience. Minimum of 5 years of transportation-related management experience, preferably in NEMT or healthcare transportation. Experience transporting passengers who are elderly, frail, or have mobility challenges. Proven knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations, vehicle maintenance, driver compliance, and safety standards. Familiarity with NEMT scheduling systems, GPS-enabled fleet management tools, and electronic driver logs (ELDs). Strong understanding of vehicle accessibility standards, defensive driving principles, and patient transport safety. Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask and make sound operational decisions in dynamic environments.
