Reporting to executive leadership, you will manage a small team of payroll specialists while remaining hands-on in payroll processing, auditing, and issue resolution. You will lead weekly multi-state payroll for 600+ employees with a heavy focus on prevailing wage, union payroll, and multi-jurisdiction compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep prevailing wage and union payroll compliance experience, thrives under pressure, and takes full ownership of compliance strategy. [Remote] Payroll Compliance Manager (Payroll exp req) Responsibilities • Own weekly payroll processing and issue resolution across multiple states • Build and enforce payroll compliance controls, audits, and documentation • Lead WA prevailing wage processes, including L&I reporting and filings • Maintain union payroll compliance and update rules as CBAs change • Partner with field leaders to ensure timely timecard approvals and accuracy • Research payroll law changes and translate them into policy and process • Delegate compliance tracking across the payroll team and verify outputs • Drive payroll system improvements and support selection/migration efforts • Establish audit controls to validate rates and ensure compliance • Resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate, timely payroll [Remote] Payroll Compliance Manager (Payroll exp req) Qualifications: • 8+ years of payroll experience required • 5+ years of combined prevailing wage & union payroll compliance experience required • Experience managing at least 1 direct report required • Experience with L&I reporting and LCP Tracker required • Experience with complex payroll systems required
