Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding Revolutionaries in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway. The Opportunity: The Director of Medical Operations will play a key leadership role in driving planning and operations to ensure execution excellence across Medical Affairs. Key responsibilities for this individual will be to build and enable agile and nimble frameworks to drive processes that ensure seamless project execution: annual planning timeline and facilitation working with functional heads and GMAT partners, business processes relating to medical affairs contracting (e.g. SOWs, MSA’s), vendor oversight, budget/financial management, working with legal, procurement and finance partners. This individual will also support medical affairs capabilities enhancement in systems and digital e.g.: internal websites with a goal to enhance team collaborations and operational efficiencies. As a senior member of the Medical Operations function, the Director will serve as a central point of contact for internal efficiencies in the Medical Affairs department. Key responsibilities include: Medical Affairs Operations & Process Optimization Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and cross-functional alignment. Processes in Medical Affairs relating to Contracting & Vendor Oversight: Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all contracting activities. Develop and maintain vendor relationships, overseeing performance, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies. Budget & Financial Management: Develop and manage the Medical Affairs budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and financial reconciliation. Partner with finance and procurement teams to optimize budget allocation and ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Monitor spending trends and provide insights to enhance financial planning and efficiency. Project & Operations Management: Oversee execution of Medical Affairs projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business priorities. Establish and manage project timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation plans. Drive process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness and cross-functional collaboration. Contribute to the leadership of day-to-day operational processes within Medical Affairs, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Digital & Systems Projects: Support digital transformation initiatives within Medical Affairs, including the implementation and optimization of medical systems, databases, and reporting tools. Identify and deploy technology solutions that enhance efficiency, data management, and cross-functional collaboration. Ensure seamless integration of digital tools to support Medical Affairs functions, including grants management, medical communications, and insights tracking. Medical Affairs Team Support: Support medical strategy planning, analytics, and communication initiatives. Provide strategic and operational support to the Medical Affairs Teams Assess, develop, and implement operations frameworks throughout Medical Affairs to ensure agile and effective decision-making and follow-through. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance Support Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, and Finance teams to ensure Medical Affairs operations align with company policies and external regulations. Support compliance tracking and reporting related to medical activities, including HCP engagements, grants, and publications. Coordinate cross-functional meetings, steering committees, and governance processes to enhance collaboration and execution. Congress Operations & External Engagements: Contribute to logistical planning and execution of medical congresses, ensuring seamless coordination of medical presence, booth activities, and KOL engagements. Support the planning and execution of advisory boards, symposia, and other key medical events, including contracting, compliance oversight, and logistics management. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations governing medical engagements. The position responsibilities are not limited to the above and might change as the team’s needs evolve. Required Skills, Experience and Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree or Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MBA, MS, or relevant life sciences/business degree preferred). 15+ years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry (with BS), 13+ years (with MS) or 11+ years (with PharmD/PhD), including 10+ years in Medical Affairs operations, project management, or a related function within biotech/pharma. Proficient or expert in business planning, project management, and agile methodologies Expertise in contract management, vendor oversight, and budget/financial planning. Ability to take initiative, be proactive with strong partnering skills and stakeholder orientation. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities. Knowledge of industry regulations (PhRMA Code, Sunshine Act, GPP, FDA, ACCME) and how they impact Medical Affairs operations. Ability to liaise with cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and IT. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage operations and drive efficiency. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and compliance documentation. Experience supporting Medical Affairs teams, systems, and processes to drive operational excellence. Knowledge of digital tools, data systems, and process automation within Medical Affairs. Proficiency in Medical Affairs systems (e.g., Datavision, Veeva CRM, medical information databases, grants management platforms). Preferred Skills: Experience in oncology or precision medicine is a plus. Prior experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed biotech or pharmaceutical environment. Our base pay salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual base pay salary is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
