Developing and maintaining full-stack applications, leading technical strategies, and mentoring teams.
Extensive experience in full-stack development with TypeScript, React, Node.js, cloud integration, and team leadership.
Resource 1 is in need of a Sr. Tandem/COBOL Developer to serve as a Technical Lead for a growing HP NonStop (Tandem) development team. While this role does not carry a formal people-manager title, it plays a critical leadership function as the team scales toward 20+ direct contributors. This position is ideal for a highly experienced Tandem developer who enjoys technical ownership, mentoring, and improving development practices, while remaining hands-on with code and production systems. Key Responsibilities: • Act as a go-to technical authority for Tandem architecture, development standards, and best practices. • Provide code reviews, design guidance, and technical mentorship to other developers. • Assist management with task delegation, prioritization, and risk identification. • Oversee the health and sustainability of a homegrown ERP on HP NonStop. • Identify and address technical debt, operational risks, and aging components. • Promote consistency in coding standards, documentation, and deployment practices. • Remain actively involved in COBOL development, batch processing, and production support. • Troubleshoot complex issues across Tandem applications and integrations. • Support high-availability, high-reliability production systems. • Support onboarding and ramp-up of new Tandem developers. • Mentor mid-level and junior-level resources. Required Qualifications: • 10+ years of HP NonStop (Tandem) development experience. • Deep expertise in COBOL, TACL, Enscribe, and SQL/MP. • Proven experience acting as a technical lead or senior individual contributor. • Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability systems. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience leading teams through platform modernization or automation initiatives. • Background in financial, ERP, or transaction-heavy systems. • Prior exposure to mentoring, onboarding, or informal people leadership. • Ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders. Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 2 weeks of PTO per year, 24 hours of sick time per year, 401(k) with 4% match
