Technical Product Owner *Please consider before applying: While this is a remote role, the selected candidate will be required to physically reside in Chicago, IL or nearby surrounding area. Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Technical Product Owner is to prioritize and manage the product backlog, learning the customers and markets to deliver industry-leading software applications through documenting, analyzing, prioritizing, and agreeing on requirements for the engineering team. Essential Functions: Translate product road map to features Participate in daily Scrum ceremonies, leading refinement sessions, and engaging with implementation team Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams Manage product backlog, prioritize features, and create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team Transform business priorities into technical requirements and engage thoroughly to ensure that business objectives are accomplished for PI Demonstrate sense of ownership Ability to communicate technical concepts, risks and dependencies and translate them into TFS/Azure work items or plans Writing and reviewing requirements as well as maintaining the requirements in our requirement systems cross platform Participating in scope discussions and facilitating the requirements elicitation process, leading from user needs, business needs, and regulatory requirements into well-documented requirements suitable for product development Contributing to and creating corporate procedures that are related to requirement management and system engineering Required Skills (Knowledge and Skills needed for this position): Ability to document complex products and systems Demonstrate knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in engineering and product development Demonstrate ability to think both strategically and tactically Thorough knowledge of both web-based and desktop applications Experience with Medical devices or regulated healthcare industry Ability to communicate across departments Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations Experience leading Agile ceremonies for Scrum teams and authoring features, user stories, acceptance criteria and related technical details The capacity to engage stakeholders and collaborate with them to define the team's requirements Working knowledge of Figma for reviewing UI designs Proficiency in Azure DevOps/TFS Desired Qualifications: Education: Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent Experience: Strong technical understanding of requirements methodologies, tools and best practices 5+ years of software engineering, product development or related experience 3+ years’ experience in project delivery role Experience in agile development, SAFe Medical device experience Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and business processes in the medical device industry – or any other regulated industry Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual compensation for this position can range from $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 with a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of the fiscal year-end.
