Maintain and overhaul fleet winches and associated machinery, manage inventory and reporting, and lead team mobilization with frequent travel.
Must have marine engineer license with 15 years of hands-on marine technical experience, ability to overhaul various winches and related machinery, lead teams, and travel extensively.
Description This job requires frequent travel. Reporting directly to the Fleet Manager, this role is to carry out the maintenance jobs of various fleet asset machineries and ensure readiness. In close coordination with the Fleet Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the maintenance jobs, raise requisitions for required spares/stores, update the job progress status in Task Tracker excel sheets, send Daily reports. Position Responsibilities: • To maintain all the fleet winches in operational condition and carry out periodic routine checks and maintenance as per the maker's recommendation. • To carry out the routine overhauling, planned maintenance and breakdown maintenance of fleet winches • To ensure sufficient inventory of all consumable items including filters, V belts and other engine consumable spares. • To assist with any other fleet machinery as and when needed. • To keep shared resources updated for any machinery issues, downtime and required repairs with timeline • To update the weekly updates on Shared resources platform. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • Maintain fleet winches readiness above 80% • Safety: Maintain a high standard of safety with minimal incidents. Requirements • Having a Marine engineer license with 15 years of Technical hands-on experience in Marine industry at sea or at shore • Should be a hands-on engineer able to overhaul and maintain various winches including but not limited to Skagit, Transvictory, Lantec, Promoters, Dutch winches • Should be able to overhaul winch associated prime movers engine (such as CAT, Detroit) and HPUs, Torque Converter unit, hydraulic/pneumatic system, Clutch diaphragms, brake bands and other associated devices. • Should be able to assist in other fleet asset machineries as and when needed, including but not limited to cranes (American, IHI, Sumitomo), Gensets, chain pullers, IC engines, compressors, HPUs or any other associated equipment. • Should be able to lead a team to mobilize and outfit a barge for projects. • Willing to travel to all our locations to address the needs of our mechanical systems on our barges, vessels, facilities and projects. • Willing to travel/attend our machineries at our facilities in Mobile and Dutch Harbor (Alaska), and in NJ with our strategic partner on a regular basis. • Willing to travel at various project sites for barges in USA, South America, Caribbeans, Cyprus and India or any other locations worldwide as and when needed • Should be able to Create and update job progress using Excel sheet, Word and Power point programs.
